The Art of Anatolian Mixology: Exploring Yeni Raki
Raki is more than just a spirit, and in Anatolia, it is a cultural institution. Traditionally served cold with water and ice (turning a milky white color known as "Lion's Milk"), this double-distilled grape and aniseed spirit has a bold, licorice-like flavor profile that has intrigued drinkers for centuries. At No 23, we wanted to bridge the gap between traditional Broadstairs mixology and Anatolian drinking culture. Our lead bartender experimented with aniseed pairings, discovering that the sharp acidity of lime and the clean freshness of garden mint beautifully complement the warmth of Yeni Raki. This discovery led to the creation of the Aegean Mojito — our best-selling signature cocktail. We also invite guests to experience the Sultan of Sakura, which infuses Raki with cucumber, lime, tonic, and a subtle, warming hint of wasabi. Whether you are a long-time Raki enthusiast or trying it for the first time, our Anatolian mixology menu offers a sensory journey unlike any other.
